The department creates Engineers with sound knowledge of Mathematics which is required to solve the engineering problems.
The department aspires to be recognized for its excellence, also to be a valuable and expert resource to the college.

- To enhance the skill in mathematical thinking, and innovativeness by providing learning opportunities and relevant applications in the study.
- To encourage inter disciplinary faculty developments and research.
About the Department
The department was established in the year 2006. The department has been recognized as a research centre for collaborative research by Anna University, Coimbatore. It provides meaningful support services, responds to the changing environment of mathematics education and promotes effective instructional strategies with students actively participating in the learning process.The curriculum provides the Mathematical application problems in the respective Engineering and Technology departments.
The departmenthas dedicated team of 19 experienced staff members which includes 3 doctorates and 5 are pursuing part time research.
The department organizes workshops, seminars and Mathematics contest. The faculty members are also encouraged to attend various conferences, workshops and seminars to understand the current trends of research as a part of Faculty Development Programs to develop innovative ideas and methodologies in Research as well as in Teaching.
